GBP 25,463 – GBP 35,229 per annum

(+ essential car user allowance)

Permanent

37 hours per week (although consideration will be given to applicants seeking part time hours)

 

Blaby District offers the full range of challenges for development and planning professionals; covering parts of the urban fringe of Leicester City, the M1 Junction 21 retail and commercial hub, a range of towns and villages, and attractive rural countryside. The growth of the area is at an unprecedented peak; with a number of high profile and significant and development projects either underway or starting. These include a new 4,250 home community currently under construction; and the largest retail development in the country just starting on site

In addition, we are now planning for the long term at a strategic level; with a draft Growth Plan for Leicester and Leicestershire currently being prepared, and work underway on looking at large scale sites to 2050. We have ambitious plans for growth; and have recently set up a new Strategic Growth Team as a reflection of this.

Due to this strategic growth focus, and the increasing levels of development, we are looking to recruit to a number of exciting roles to support delivery.

The Senior Planning Officer role involves working proactively and with initiative to make clear, timely and quality decisions on planning and other applications. This is a career graded post which provides opportunities for continued development and progression.  We are looking for a talented, ambitious and qualified town planner with recent experience of dealing with a varied caseload of planning and other applications.  You must be a team player who is customer focused with a positive attitude to delivering sustainable development.
