Area Planning Officer

Dealing with all aspects of the development management process

Facilitating economic growth is a key priority for the Borough Council and the first part of our Local Plan was adopted in 2014 identifying a need to deliver around 13,150 new homes during the plan period (up to 2028).  We are nearing adoption of Part 2 of the Local Plan which will unlock further housing sites, many of which are currently in the Green Belt.  In addition, the Borough Council is promoting development of employment land alongside the delivery of housing.

We require an Area Planning Officer to join a successful busy team dealing with all aspects of the development management process, and seek an exceptional candidate to meet the challenges, with a focus on delivering economic growth and excellent customer service.  The successful candidate will, subject to experience, have an opportunity to deal with a varied caseload of applications and pre-application enquiries.

With flexible working hours and remote home-working arrangements, this role also offers an excellent pension package and onsite Leisure Centre with discounted membership fees.
