The Parking Enforcement team helps the City Council meet the demands of the Traffic Management Act 2004. As a Civil Enforcement Officer you will perform a unique and innovative role, conducting street patrols within designated areas of the city, maintaining the free flow of traffic and reducing incidents of inconsiderate and dangerous parking.
An understanding of legislation/regulations relating to the operation and enforcement of both on-street and off-street parking enforcement is desirable but training will be provided, so a good attitude to work and a desire to learn on the job is needed.
Required to cover a flexible rota over a 7-day period, including weekends and bank holidays, between the core hours of 06:00 to 24:00 and 24:00 to 01:45.
Appointment to Level 2 will depend on ability to drive a van or moped as part of job duties. We are particularly looking to recruit Level 2 Officers for the Thursday evening to Monday evening shift.

-Effective communication skills to deal effectively with the public, contractors, and Police;
-Ability to listen, empathise, be assertive and deal with enforcement situations tactfully and diplomatically;

-Willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions in a solo role or as part of a team (protective clothing supplied);
-Ability to work shifts and be flexible. Must be prepared to work outside of normal hours / shift pattern;
