Cleaner (City Bus Stations)

Salary: £16,394 – £16,755 per annum (plus Living Wage supplement to £8.75 per hour is applicable for standard working hours – subject to review).

Location: Haymarket and St Margaret’s Bus Stations – Leicester City Centre

Permanent, Full Time

Covering the main bus stations in the City Centre, required to undertake individually or as part of a team the cleaning of designated areas to ensure the appropriate standard of cleanliness is maintained, under the direction of a Public Transport Operations Officer.

To cover a flexible rota over a 7-day period, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and bank holidays (between 7am – 10:30pm).

Requirements of the post include:

-Experience of undertaking general cleaning duties, or willing/able to undertake such duties;

-Previous experience of operating mechanical cleaning equipment, or willing to learn;

-Basic literacy skills sufficient to complete forms, understand and carry out verbal instructions;

-Ability to understand and follow procedures and regulations with awareness of Health & Safety issues;

-Able to undertake the physical tasks associated with the role i.e. operate mechanical cleaning equipment and empty litter bins;

-Willing to wear full uniform at all times when on duty;

-Able to work shift times as specified for the site;

-Helpful and courteous, with good interpersonal skills and willing to communicate with the public and other staff members as required.
