Customer Service Officer (City Bus Stations)

Salary : £16,481 – £17,547 per annum (pro rata to hours worked)

Location: Haymarket & St Margaret’s Bus Stations



1 x Permanent, Full Time Post

2 x Permanent, Casual Posts



To provide a customer service to bus passengers including provision of bus service information, dealing with OneCard enquiries and general site management, ensuring the safe, efficient and effective operation of the bus station.


Requirements of the post:

– Good interpersonal skills and willing to communicate with the public, bus drivers and other staff members or external agencies as required either face to face, on the telephone, via email or letter;

– Good verbal and written skills sufficient to follow procedures and put them into action;

– Good administrative and IT skills and able to interpret bus timetables;

– Experience of working in a customer service and or retail environment;

– Commitment and understanding of the need to ensure high standards of customer care;

– Able to work under pressure in a busy environment with a view to promoting Leicester’s bus services, to a range of diverse communities;

– A team player with ability to work on own initiative;

– Experience of supervising other staff;

– Must be willing to wear uniform or / and adhere to a dress code;

– Must be willing to work on a flexible rota, across weekends, bank holidays, and some evenings;

– Be punctual and reliable.
