Energy Officer

We are looking for an innovative and organised individual to help deliver key energy related matters for the Council.

The post is located in the Housing and Property Services Department within the Estates Section. The key role of the post will be monitoring energy usage and through the billing process ensuring the Council only pays for the energy it uses. The post holder will also be expected to help implement actions in the Carbon Management Plan such as promoting energy saving initiatives to employees and the wider community to reduce energy use, fuel poverty and the Borough’s carbon footprint.

The successful candidate will have an interest in energy saving, be computer literate with experience of using Excel/databases and dealing with billing, have project management skills and a willingness to learn about this area of work. It also requires people skills to communicate the importance of saving energy.
