Permanent – 37 hrs per week

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person who will help organise our busy office and act as the first point of contact for new and existing environmental health enquiries and cases.

The environmental health department has a broad and interesting remit which incorporates a variety of work areas including health and safety, food safety, public health, statutory nuisance complaints, envirocrime, mobile homes and housing issues.

The successful candidate will be responsible for answering the telephone, responding to basic and sometimes complex customer enquiries, liaising with our partner organisations, minute-taking, updating databases, generating statistical reports and assisting officers with investigations and project work.

You will ideally have a good understanding of Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with databases.

The post offers an exciting and satisfying opportunity for candidates who possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to learn quickly and to work well under pressure.

Experience working in a customer focussed environment with a good telephone manner and excellent organisational skills would be advantageous.
