The Finance Team is a key part of Rutland County Council and is looking for two exceptional individuals to join us. The team provide strategic financial advice to support the council’s planning and operational activity. We work in collaboration with operational teams and partners to ensure financial and commercial services deliver the agreed outcomes in our medium term financial plan.

We are going through a period of exciting change and we would like you to join us on this journey. You will support and enable the delivery of high quality services to the residents, businesses and visitors to Rutland.

The Finance Business Partner role will be responsible for the effective delivery of Exchequer services (payroll, debtors and creditors) alongside management of the Council’s financial systems, treasury, insurance and banking functions. A key part of this role will be to drive systems improvement across the whole organisation.

The Directorate Accountant role will be responsible for directly supporting operational teams in budget setting, monitoring and final accounts. The role will also be involved in providing financial advice on strategic and operational projects.

To be successful in either role, you will need advanced computer skills, the ability to question and analyse data and to present it in a coherent and user friendly format. You will be CCAB qualified (or finalist) and have the ability to manage people effectively and drive the service forward. A flexible, motivated attitude and the ability to work unsupervised when necessary is also required in what can at times be a pressurised environment.
