Functional Family Therapy Child Welfare Therapist

Location: Halford House

Full-time, Permanent

Leicester is one of the most diverse and multicultural cities in the country. We are committed to continuous improvement and due to ongoing investment, our Edge of Care Services have expanded.

Whilst there are a number of Functional Family Therapy services in the UK, Leicester City Council are the first in the UK to offer Functional Family Therapy Child Welfare (FFT-CW).  This new programme went live at the beginning of September and you would be joining a dynamic, fresh team.  You will be working with families where there are ongoing child protection concerns and a real and imminent risk of care. Primarily you will work with families with very young children or families where there are concerns regarding domestic abuse. However, you will also work with cases with a range of other complex and high-risk child protection issues.

FFT-CW is a manualised therapy which utilises a range of tools from behavioural therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and family therapy to enable families who often have complex and challenging needs to adopt new choices and behaviours within around 6 months. The aim is to make the home and family relationship sound and safe enough to keep children and families together.

Are you hard working, resilient and able to rise to the challenge of this innovative and exciting new approach?
