We are going through a period of exciting change and we would like you to join us on this journey. You will support and enable the delivery of high quality services to the residents, businesses and visitors to Rutland.
As part of this journey we are seeking an enthusiastic and confident individual to drive forward our exciting plans for change. This position will provide an exciting and unique opportunity to be part of the governance service responsible for administering and clerking various council committees, forums and panels, working closely with County Councillors, senior officers, partners and members of the public.
This role includes working as part of a busy team who lead on the County Council’s democratic and decision-making process. The Governance Officer will also provide comprehensive support to Elected Members and Chief Officers, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the practice and procedure of democratic meetings. High level IT skills are also essential and ideally, you will have a working knowledge of the Modern.gov committee management system. We are looking for an innovative and dynamic individual able to identify opportunities to improve systems and processes and work flexibly as part of a team in order to solve problems. You must be able to work to demanding deadlines in order to provide an excellent service to our customers. Some meeting support outside normal office hours will be required.
You will be encouraged to undertake professional development through training opportunities and consideration will be given to requests to undertake the ADSO Certificate.
