Graduate Project Officer (Noise and Pollution Control)

Salary : £16,781 – £17,772 per annum

Location : Phoenix House, Leicester City

 

Full Time, Fixed Term for 18 Months

 

As part of the City Council’s drive to provide graduates with more opportunities to experience work and develop career paths, we are pleased to offer an exciting and challenging Graduate Project Officer role within the Noise and Pollution Control Team.

Requirements of the post:

 – A degree or direct equivalent (eg NVQ) in an Environmental Science based subject ;

– To possess knowledge of noise and pollution (eg odour, smoke, dust) control matters ;

– Experience and ability to interpret and implement technical information ;

– Experience and ability in maintaining accurate and comprehensive records ;

– Experience and knowledge of using IT systems ;

– Effective and efficient communication skills, sufficient to prepare reports, correspondence and statutory notices, to deal with staff at all levels and outside bodies, and the public (including in conflict situations) ;

– The ability to work outside normal office hours when required by the needs of the service, including participation in the out of hours rota ;

– Current full UK driving licence .

Desirable:

– A qualification in acoustics or similar.
