Homelessness Support Officer

Job Location: York House


Housing Options provides advice and assistance to customers in relation to the prevention of homelessness. Housing Options is also responsible for managing the Housing Register.


As part of the team you will be responsible for processing the referrals coming into the Authority for temporary accommodation. You will process all applications for floating support and provide ongoing support to internal and external provider. You must therefore have a high level of customer care.


Requirements of the Post 

– Educated to ‘A’ level Standard or equivalent experience/working knowledge of Housing Allocations, Homelessness and other welfare services

– Experience of interviewing and advising members of the public and or experience of working in a customer focused environment

– Working experience in at least one of the areas listed above

– Ability to produce clear and concise verbal and written communication
