Melton Borough is an attractive rural area in the north-east part of Leicestershire centred on the market town of Melton Mowbray.

A key position has been added to our busy planning team for an enthusiastic member of staff wishing to focus on sustainable growth and service development.

The postholder will have a key role in the pro active delivery of sustainable growth and economic development in the Borough, that are critical to the Council’s  strategic planning objectives and the future prosperity of the Borough. The role would also assist in the development and delivery of our service provision in the planning and economic development fields.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated planning officer with a wide range of well-developed skills and a track record in delivery,  committed to securing quality sustainable development, the advancement of the service and the achievement of our key priorities.

The Borough has ambitious growth aspirations and has the potential for significant development opportunities, and the Council has a busy team progressing on a new Borough wide Local Plan and managing development. Melton Mowbray is renowned as the Rural Capital of Food and the Council is a nationwide pathfinder in the production of a Local Development Order and Enterprize Zone status in this sector.
