To undertake the servicing, repair, maintenance and inspections of a mixed fleet comprising of cars, vans, HGV’s, Refuse collection vehicles and plant owned and operated by the District Council.
Objective – To ensure that the council fleet complies with all relevant legislation.
Duties – Maintain the fleet to the highest standard of safety and roadworthiness.
Objective – To undertake the servicing, repair and inspection of council vehicles.
Duties – Inspect vehicles for roadworthiness; Prepare vehicles for MOTs; Carry out services as per the service schedule; Investigate and repair any vehicle, which is reported under the daily check defect reporting system; Attend to vehicle breakdowns off site; Ensure all paperwork is completed on a daily bias; Inform Stock Controller when stocks are running down.
Objective – Ensure the workshop is kept clean and tidy and that health and safety standards are maintained.
Duties – Clean workshop of all spills and ensure all rubbish is removed.
Objective – To load, transport and unload waste materials efficiently, effectively and safely in accordance with established service specifications and locally agreed procedures.
Duties – To drive/operate vehicles and equipment as required by the authority in accordance with the valid licence, experience and training for that vehicle/equipment; To drive/operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with agreed authority safety procedures and legal requirements; To complete, check and return all paperwork as required; To maintain the cleanliness and appearance of vehicles and equipment to a high standard, including daily vehicle checks; To collect waste from the curtilage of properties and load onto vehicles; To collect any loose waste from properties and load onto vehicles;
To unload waste from vehicles.

Duties – To assist with the collection of bulk items; To deal with customers in a responsible and professional manner; To undertake any relevant duties and training or instruction required to carry out the duties listed; Ensure compliance with council policy on PPE, the Council’s health & safety policy and associated risk assessments.
