Neighbourhoods Officer

We believe that South Kesteven District Council is a great place to work and with our ‘Unlocking our Potential’ programme we have seen many improvements, both for customers and employees over the last couple of years. Now we want to be a top employer.  South Kesteven remains a very ambitious council, which is focussing on delivering its key priorities.  We want our staff to be part of that success story and will invest in our people to make sure we have the right skills and apply them to the right things.  Times are changing, and we want to ensure our people feel well supported, engaged and resilient to face the challenges.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new multi-disciplined team that is being formed to deliver a range of services within our neighbourhoods. The primary focus of the team is in dealing with anti social behaviour and environmental crime. This challenging and rewarding role will be developed to provide other services in the future that require a neighbourhood presence.

The successful candidate will build upon the positive impact this team has made on improving the quality of the environment and building community confidence within the District.

The ideal candidate will have experience of PACE interviews and report writing as well as having excellent communication skills and a positive attitude to resolving the issues that impact upon local communities. However training can be provided for the right candidate who reflects our values and behaviours and wants to make a difference.

This role will require flexibility in working hours in order to carry out targeted initiatives aimed at resolving on-going environmental or anti social issues.

You will need to be able to work in an environment which can be challenging. Being sympathetic to the needs of the customer whilst maintaining objectivity within individual cases is a significant aspect of this role.
