Salary: £23,398 – £36,379 pro-rata per annum – Career Grade

Location: Beaumont Way, Leicester  LE4 1EL

Permanent, Part-Time – 18.5 hrs/wk (£11,699 – £18,189 per annum)

Working pattern can be discussed at interview.

Level 1: £23,398 – £25,951 pro-rata per annum

Level 2: £30,153 – £32,486 pro-rata per annum

Level 3: £33,437 – £36,379 pro-rata per annum

(Above are full time equivalent values – salary for 18.5 hrs/wk will be pro-rata)

Appointment to particular level will depend on outcome of assessment/interview.

We are looking for an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist to work in a small team within Leicester City’s Special Educational Needs & Disability section. You will produce and implement remedial action plans for disabled children to support provision of equipment for daily living and minor and major adaptations. You will assess functional abilities and demonstrate suitable self-management techniques, provision/review and demonstration of equipment and adaptation where deemed appropriate.

With the ability to develop good working relationships with service users and their carers, as well as statutory and voluntary agencies, you will have the commitment to delivering high quality services to enable children to retain or regain independence in their activities of daily living.

Newly qualified or students awaiting qualification results are welcome to apply.

Requirements of the post include:

-Diploma/Degree from College of Occupational Therapy with HCPC registration;

-Ability to assess the needs of disabled children and young people in social settings;

-Ability to devise and implement individual programme plans to improve and maintain independence;

-Ability to offer support and advice to carers in relation to the management of disabilities and arrange for the provision of services, particularly equipment for daily living and home adaptations in relation to the Disabled Facilities Grant;

-Good knowledge of paediatric moving and handling techniques;

-Excellent assessment, risk management, communication and organisational skills;

-Subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
