Outreach Officer

Salary: £10,330 – £11,329 per annum

Location: Town Hall, Leicester

Part Time (18.5 hours), Fixed Term to 30/08/2018

Leicester Arts & Museums Service is looking for a highly motivated individual to support the delivery of new interpretation resources for the Jewry Wall site’s archaeological remains.  This will include working with Service staff and an external contractor to develop an interactive mobile app and interpretation panels.  The post holder, in conjunction with the Friends of Jewry Wall Museum, will also co-ordinate a programme of community engagement events, volunteer training and marketing.  The Friends in partnership with the Service have secured Heritage Lottery Funding to support these activities.  The individual will oversee the day to day delivery of the project and work alongside colleagues to develop and deliver the project programme.

Requirements of the post:

  • Previous relevant experience for example: museums, heritage, education, or community outreach
  • Previous relevant experience of working with a range of hard to reach audiences, for example elderly people, BME communities, young people etc
  • Ability to develop accessible interpretation resources and a programme of associated events
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluating community outreach projects
  • Experience of developing and sustaining relationships with varied community-based groups
