£21,693 – £24,657 per annum,

37 hours per week

Fixed Term Contract until 31st July 2020

 

Our Health & Leisure Services Team at Blaby District Council is committed to providing a first class service to our residents by delivering programmes and interventions that aim to improve their health and wellbeing.

We are looking to recruit an individual to be responsible for co-ordinating, developing and delivering Active Travel programmes primarily to schools and businesses in Blaby District. The individual will work closely with Blaby District Council’s Environmental Services team as well as Leicestershire County Council’s Safe and Sustainable Travel team to deliver existing programmes involving co-ordination of actions and delivery of activities.

Key tasks of the role are to engage with schools and businesses to investigate methods to increase active travel, create plans with organisations to facilitate active travel, deliver or obtain services to achieve these plans whilst evaluating the effectiveness of the interventions.

You will be the lead officer for the active travel programme of work and will be expected to work on your own initiative and drive your own work programme to achieve your outcomes. Your engaging and influential personality will ensure the maximum number of schools and businesses will be participating in your initiatives and your organisational skills to be able manage many programmes at the same time.
