Salary: £18,070 – £20,138 per annum

Location: City Hall, 115 Charles Street, Leicester  LE1 1FZ

Permanent, Full time

The Public Health division has an opportunity for a passionate and driven individual to join the team. A Programme Assistant is required to provide support to the Oral Health Promotion Service and other public health programmes, assisting in facilitating the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and achieving service/divisional objectives.

You will provide administrative support to the oral health promotion service undertaking tasks to support the day to day running of the service and to ensure key service documentation is accurate and up to date. This may include event planning and organising meetings.

In addition, you will assist in the delivery of new and existing public health programmes and in the development of promotional material, for example supporting schools and early years settings to promote oral health and healthy weight.

Requirements of the post include:

-Good level or written and verbal communication skills;

-Experience of providing health promotion in a community setting;

-Ability to assist and support presentations and training of service users for promotional activities;

-I.T skills, including proficiency in the use of databases, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Internet;

-Experience of, or ability to, assist in the implementation of new processes or procedures.

-Ability to work under pressure on own initiative;

-Good understanding of the importance of customer care;

-Willing and able to travel to various locations (schools/nurseries) across the City;

-Subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
