Full time permanent – 37 hrs per week

Scale 6 £30,785 -£34,538

Blaby District is a prosperous and vibrant location offering a full range of opportunities for enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic planning professionals. The District covers parts of the urban fringe of Leicester City, a range of other towns and villages and attractive rural countryside.

The Council already has an adopted core strategy, permission granted for a 4,250 home urban extension and a demonstrable 5 year land supply; however we are not stopping there. We will be taking forward some high priority projects over the next 12 months and beyond; seeking to establish a robust planning policy framework, enable business growth, and promote inward investment in the district. To support this we now have an exciting opportunity in a key position that will drive and support our planning policy functions.

The role will have a varied and interesting remit, including the production of the Local Plan Delivery DPD for the district, supporting the strategic planning process, as well as some involvement in neighbourhood planning. The role will also support the formulation and monitoring of other planning policies and assist with the delivery of the Development Strategy Team’s work programme

Benefits of working with us include final salary pension scheme, flexi time, childcare vouchers, employee volunteer scheme and out of town offices with free car parking.

Blaby District Council want their workforce to reflect the make up the community we serve, and we therefore welcome applications irrespective of gender, ethnic origin, religion, belief, sexual orientation, age or disability. In addition Blaby District Council is committed to interviewing all disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria.
