Salary: £23,398 – £25,951 pro-rata per annum

Location: De Montfort Hall, Leicester  LE1 7RU

Permanent, 30 hours per week (£18,971 – £21,041 per annum)

De Montfort Hall is the premier live entertainment venue for Leicester. The venue hosts a programme of performances that include musicals, classical concerts, opera, ballet, family shows, popular touring artists and comedians.

We are looking to recruit a Technician to support hirers of the venue and incoming professional shows, whilst ensuring maximum health and safety of people and equipment at all times.

You will be required to support technical aspects of the venue’s day-to-day operation, including rigging, sound, stage and especially lighting.

Requirements of the post include:

-Understanding of technical processes involved in concert performances and events including rigging, sound, stage and especially lighting;

-Good knowledge of the techniques involved and the equipment used in the production of a live performance/event across all disciplines including sound, audio visual, stage management and especially lighting;

-Experience of and ability to demonstrate a good understanding of electrical & electronic systems/installations relevant to a concert hall / theatre;

-Good understanding of health & safety issues relevant to a concert hall / theatre;

-Effective communication skills with self-confidence to represent the venue in a positive manner to a wide range of clients and staff members;

-Ability to work under pressure and to stay calm in difficult situations;

-Able to work irregular shift patterns which will include unsociable hours – early mornings, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays as required.
