Trainee Planning Officer

South Kesteven is a very ambitious Council, which is focussing on delivering its key priorities.  We want our staff to be part of that success story and will invest in our people to make sure we have the right skills and apply them to the right things.  Times are changing, and we want to ensure our people feel well supported, engaged and resilient to face the challenges ahead.

We care passionately about planning positively for the sustainable growth of South Kesteven, and we want to do the same for you and your future.

We have created a new role of Planning Trainee, initially based on our planning policy team to support the development of a new Local Plan but with the potential to also cover Development Management.  We are seeking a degree educated, enthusiastic individual with a strong interest and commitment to planning.  You should want to join our team to develop a career in planning and we will support this through a tailored training plan.

As we are experiencing growth in our District, we can offer you a varied workload with the opportunity to further your knowledge and experience. Our achievements include modernising the design of our planning service, successfully maintaining high performance and helping deliver growth within Grantham.

You will be joining us at a crucial time in the delivery of our ambitious plans for growth.  Through your personal commitment, you will help us to promote a professional, customer orientated approach towards our planning service.

To arrange an informal discussion please email Roger Ranson,  Business Manager for Spatial and Economic Growth r.ranson@southkesteven.gov.uk
