Community Care Worker, Amber Valley Children’s Social Care, East Team

About the role

Derbyshire County Council have an exciting opportunity for a caring and determined Community Care Worker to join our East team in the Amber Valley Locality. This is a full-time post, 37 hours per week, based at The Hub, South Normanton in the East Team.  The post is permanent.

The position is within a busy social work team with an experienced and committed group of colleagues, supported by a highly competent Practice Supervisor and experienced Team Manager.

We are looking for motivated and dedicated applicants who can demonstrate a passion for working with vulnerable individuals within society and making a difference to children and families. 

What will you be doing?

The role involves a range of tasks linked to social work practice in the locality including.

  • Parenting assessments
  • Supporting family time
  • Direct work with children
  • Supporting plans for children and families.
  • Engaging with other agencies and partner organisations 

What skills and experience do you need?

  • NVQ Level 3 in Care or equivalent, or willing to work towards once in post (refer to job and person profile for more information).
  • Experience of creating rapport and building effective relationships with families.
  • Knowledge of Child Protection, child development and parenting abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent assessment and IT skills.

Our Community Care Worker Role attracts a starting salary of £29,719 with annual increments to £31,691 per annum.
