We have an exciting vacancy for a Project Officer to support the Community Services Manager (CSM) and wider Community Services team in the delivery of a range of projects on a fixed term basis for approximately 20 months. These will be ranging from small service-led projects to major strategic projects, most significantly the mobilisation of the upcoming waste / cleansing and grounds maintenance contracts, along with other waste-related service changes.
The role may be carried out through hybrid working at City Hall / working from home and with occasional site work in line with duties.

Duties will include:
– Project managing some projects.
– Supporting the CSM on larger strategic projects.
– Searching for, drafting and submitting funding bids.
– Ensuring projects follow and comply with the appropriate Lincoln Project Management Model (LPMM) process.
– Actions to support a smooth mobilisation for the two new major contracts.
– Accurate data collection / collation and analysis.
– Facilitating and minuting meetings.
– Drafting progress reports and briefing papers.
– Carrying out ‘Control of Contractors’ checks.
– Ensuring deadlines are met.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
– Ability to think creatively when developing approaches to project delivery and solutions to problems.
– Ability to negotiate solutions, including to contentious problems.
– Ability to communicate clearly and positively with customers and colleagues, in writing and face-to-face.
– Project management qualification at diploma level or higher, or equivalent demonstrable experience in project management.
– Confidence in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel to gather, analyse and present information.
