This will be a key role, setting performance specifications, and ensuring the safety of projects, which will benefit our entire community.

The Opportunity
In the role of Project Supervisor – Mechanical here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:

The Project Supervisor – Mechanical will manage Derby City Councils’ building and maintenance projects, providing technical expertise and ensuring that quality, health and safety standards and relevant legislation is met. You will act as an advisor to the Corporate Landlord on compliance across the Councils estate, as well as being a leading technical specialist, overseeing complex projects regarding heating, hygiene, air conditioning, and commercial kitchens.

 

You will lead on resource planning and budgeting, overseeing the design and implementation of works and contract management.
Managing the delivery of the legionella planned maintenance programme including legionella risk assessments, ensuring that all work is delivered on schedule and to the required standards. In addition, you will be responsible for client representation on major projects and advising on design and drawing suitability, ensuring that the end result is fit for purpose.

 

About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have…
• Experience of Building Services Engineering.
• Extensive experience of construction and maintenance
• Knowledge and experience of applying ISO 55000 International Standards for Asset Management and BS 8544 and required to have knowledge and application of British Standards, regulations and recommendations to use on daily basis
• Experience in providing technical direction with regard to construction, technology and building engineering services
• Proven leadership of minor and major building works on a range of projects including: New Build, Routine repairs, Conversions, Planned preventative maintenance, Adaptations, Refurbishments, Improvements, Alterations, Demolitions and Decoration
• Proven application of effective project and programme management (Prince2 or similar)
• Practice in the preparation and scrutinising and auditing of: Contracts, Specifications, Drawings, Diagrams, Calculations
• A minimum of a University degree relevant to Building Services Engineering.
