Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service (DACES) is seeking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced GCSE Mathematics subject specialist tutors to our tutor pool.

GCSE Mathematics classes are delivered face-to-face in our centres to young people aged 14-19, using the AQA GCSE Mathematic (8300) Foundation tier syllabus.

In addition to specific a GCSE class once appointed to the tutor pool tutors can be asked to cover for absent colleagues or build a working pattern to suit on a course-by-course basis.   This makes this role ideal for both those who only want a few hours a week to those who want to build a more substantive role and timetable of classes.

We are particularly keen to hear from people who can work in the following areas:

  • Bolsover
  • Clay Cross
  • Lea Green

 Applicants should:

  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification and subject specialist qualification.
  • Have experience of working with learners in the 14 – 19 age range.
  • Have experience of delivering to learners who are resitting GCSEs.
  • Be able to deliver in a blended learning approach to maintain engagement, interaction and motivation of learners.
  • Be committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion and British Values.
