Communities Officer (Equality and Vulnerability)

Salary: £27,959 – £29,303 Grade 6
Location: Beeston

Broxtowe Borough Council is situated in the heart of the East Midlands, only minutes away from the City of Nottingham.  The Borough has a diverse range of communities from dynamic city suburbs to historic mining towns and rural villages.

Candidates must successfully complete the vetting process by Nottinghamshire Police before a contract is offered as the role is based within Police Stations.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic professional experienced in equality and diversity and able to use a wide range of communication and personal skills to engage with vulnerable people, agencies and the community.

You will have knowledge of interventions to support and improve the lives of a wide range of vulnerable people and of projects to promote community cohesion.

You will need to be able to communicate with vulnerable people, the general public, partner agencies and Members of the Council in a tactful and confident manner and be able to demonstrate a practical approach to problem solving.

You must have excellent organisational skills, working both in a team and on your own initiative and you must be willing to work flexibly as out of hours work may be required based on service delivery needs.
