Environmental Health Technician (Commercial)

To support this, we are now seeking to recruit an Environmental Health Technician to our Commercial Team to complement the existing resource and help deliver greater resilience both within Environmental Health and the wider Place and Economy Service. 

The Place and Economy service delivers the Environmental Health, Development Management, Licensing and Policy functions for the Council and works closely with Emergency Planning and Building Control. The post holder will support the Environmental Health Manager, Principal Environmental Health Officer and immediate colleagues in delivering a diverse range of Commercial Team duties and responsibilities predominantly with a Food Safety and Health & Safety remit.

Applications are invited from candidates with an Ordinary Certificate or Higher Certificate in food hygiene inspection (or equivalent) in Environmental Health, who have experience in enforcement work plus environmental and public health principles.  We are looking for a candidate who has energy, enthusiasm and excellent communication skills in order to make a positive impact and help boost service delivery.
