Derbyshire County Council is looking for an Estate Compliance Project Officer to join our property team, supporting the effective management of the Council’s schools Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contracts.
This is a key role within our PFI Asset Management and Estates function, helping to ensure that school and academy buildings are safe, secure, compliant and value for money, while supporting robust contract and financial management across our PFI portfolio.
About the role
Working closely with the Estate Compliance Manager (PFI), you will provide specialist technical and contractual support across estates, facilities management and asset-related matters. You will play an important part in monitoring contractor performance, coordinating financial and compliance activity, and supporting improvement and savings initiatives.
Your work will involve regular liaison with schools, contractors, senior council officers and external partners, requiring strong communication skills and confidence working across organisational boundaries.

About you
You will have experience of working in a project, estates, facilities management or contract management environment and be confident handling detailed information and complex processes. You will be organised, proactive and able to work autonomously while meeting deadlines.
You will also bring:
Experience or knowledge of PFI contracts, estates, facilities management or public‑sector contract management would be particularly beneficial.
