Hospital Housing Triage Officer
Scale 3 £25,584 – £27,711 per annum
37 hours per week
Fixed term until 31 March 2026
The Housing Enablement Team (HET) are looking for a Hospital Housing Triage Officer with housing experience who can triage all referrals into the service and undertake any appropriate actions relevant to the role, before referring onto another member of the team if further support is required.
We are looking for a knowledgeable individual who is passionate about helping people resolve their housing problems to join our friendly team and help us to continue delivering a first-class service to our patients and partners.
Candidates must have: –
· A good working knowledge of Word and Excel and SharePoint with administrative experience.
· The ability to work with minimum supervision and prioritise your own workload.
· A good understanding of NHS hospital discharges, and the pressures associated with this.
· Previous experience of working sensitively with patients and partner agencies as well as the ability to work in a pressured environment.
Your role will be to provide administrative support to the team and service manager to ensure all reporting data is kept up to date for reporting purposes. To be the first point of contact for the HET via the duty line and inbox and to ensure referrals are allocated to the appropriate officer and to deal with all enquiries from customers and partners.
You will on occasion be expected to assist the HET practically, obtaining supplies or managing bookings to ensure that patients are discharged on time.
You will have previous experience of working with or dealing with vulnerable people and have a good understanding of issues facing vulnerable people, including the homeless and those with mental health issues.
Job Description and Person Specification
This post will be based at Blaby District Council, however the post covers the three UHL hospitals (LRI, Glenfield & Leicester General), all Community Hospitals in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland, the Bradgate Mental Health Unit, the Mental Health Rehabilitation Units and the Mental Health services for Older Persons (MHSOP) wards and you will therefore on occasion be expected to visit these sites to assist the HET to attend meetings, or events.
You must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and have a vehicle, full driving licence and business insurance to be able to travel around Leicester City, Leicestershire County and Rutland in order to undertake duties.
