Planning Enforcement Team Leader
Scale 6 (£38,626 – £42,708)
Permanent, 37 hours per week (hybrid working available)

The planning department are currently in a period of growth with more planned and as a result, we are looking to appoint a Planning Enforcement Team Leader.
As the Planning Enforcement Team Leader you will lead a fast paced and dedicated team of professionals to maintain and expand the capacity to respond to enforcement complaints.
This role will include but not be limited to:
· Investigating complaints of unauthorised development and take enforcement action where appropriate.
· Undertake investigations in line with planning enforcement policy.
· Deal with complex enforcement cases and take forward required legal action.
· Review and maintain the Planning Enforcement Policy, supplementary documents and keep up to date with relevant legislation
· Conduct interviews and administer cautions.
· Prepare and give evidence on behalf of the council in connection with planning enforcement.

To be successful for this role, we are looking for individuals with knowledge of the planning enforcement arena as well as experience of investigating complicated cases, monitoring sites and serving formal notices and preparing matters for court.
You will need to be a team player and be an excellent communicator with good negotiating skills. This role is incredibly varied and involves interaction with customers, colleagues and other agencies in a manner of different methods, as well as dealing with complex and sensitive information.
Whilst initial training will be office based, there is an opportunity to be home based for part of the week.
