Building Surveyor

Salary: £44,059 – £47,134

The City of Lincoln Council are pleased to have an exciting new opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join our Maintenance team on a full time, fixed term basis until 1/12/2026.

This new role will undertake essential work for the Housing Repairs Service in relation to disrepair, damp and mould casework, option appraisals and structural inspections across the Council’s 7,800 properties throughout Lincoln.

Key responsibilities:

– Supporting the Maintenance & Investment Team in providing an efficient and effective service in response to building maintenance.

– Carrying out various property inspections and assessments across the housing stock, including housing disrepair, damp and mould cases, stock options appraisals and general building defect investigations.

– Ensuring building remedial works are specified correctly and completed efficiently and effectively, to a high standard whilst providing excellent customer experience and satisfaction levels.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

– Experience of producing accurate estimated costs for project works and ability to analyse alternative solutions to ensure most appropriate cost benefit.

– Experience of writing reports and making recommendations relating to landlord requirements.

– Experience in the identification of different types of dampness and the ability to recommend and schedule the correct remedial work in accordance with the requirements of the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018.

– HNC / degree or above qualification in building, construction surveying or related subject and / or membership of a recognised professional body or equivalent qualification or experience.
