Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service has a vacancy (0.6fte) vacancy for a Programme Development Worker (PDW) with responsibility for 14-19 teaching and learning on study programme at Lea Green Outdoor Centre DE4 5GJ and the Supported Internship programme at Lea Green and Gulliver’s Kingdom, Matlock Bath DE4 3PG.
The role requires a L4 (or higher) teaching qualification.
The contract is for 22.2 hours per week (0.6 fte) and could be worked either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (5.55 hours per day) OR Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (7.4 hours per day)
Most of the time you will be based at Lea Green, but you may cover 1 day per week at Gulliver’s Kingdom.
The PDW role includes teaching and assessing (as a qualified tutor) and time allocated for a variety of managerial duties supporting the development of programmes, management of delivery staff, promotion and improvement of teaching and learning within DACES provision, liaison with partner agencies and families; monitoring achievement and progression and recruiting learners.
14-19 Study Programmes and 18-24 Supported Internship – safe, kind, local learning.
Working in partnership with the Programme Development Manager the PDW will oversee the development and delivery of study programmes for around 10 learners aged 16-19 (or 24 with an Educational Health Care Plan) at Lea Green. We also run a supported internship in partnership with Lea Green and Gulliver’s Kingdom as the employers. This is a rolling 1-year programme which typically supports a small group (around 5) Derbyshire young people, aged 18 to 24 years and with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) to prepare for paid employment. DACES are the education provider and job coach provider and work in partnership with Lea Green and Gulliver’s as host businesses.
The study programme and the supported internship are often on site at the same time and the PDW will have operational responsibility for both programmes.
