Most children will receive their education in a school setting. However, there are some circumstances where children’s educational needs can only be met through Education Other than at School. We are looking for an experienced individual who can work with our stakeholders to ensure that children in Rutland receive the appropriate arrangement for education that they are entitled to.
About you…
You have a strong understanding of the needs of children with SEND, with a proven track record as a teacher, practitioner or leader in SEND.
You have a proven track record of influencing change, and delivering on strategic outcomes
You are a strong team player with the ability to work on your own initiative
You are a motivated individual who will enjoy working with a passionate and dynamic team
You are a creative thinker and enjoy solving problems
About the role…
As the EOTAS Coordinator you will:
Lead on the delivery of the local authority’s responsibilities to provide Education Other than At School under section 19 and section 61 of the Education Act.
Work with stakeholders to secure a strong process for the Education Other than at School offer in Rutland.
Work with Case Officers, Educators and Parents/Carers to develop an offer of education that meets the education needs in children’s medical needs and/or EHCP.
Have an oversight of all children who are receiving their education other an at school, working with case holders to quality assure the package in place.
The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.
Please note the post holder will need a driving licence to ensure they can travel around the county.
The EOTAS Coordinator interviews will be held face to face at the council offices on 21 November 2024. Please be advised this could be subject to change, in which case we will give appropriate notice.
