Housing Advice Officer

Salary: £29,093 – £33,366 per annum
Location: Skegness

We are recruiting a Housing Advice Officer to join our busy team!

 

As a Housing Advice Officer, you would work as part of a team ensuring the service meets its statutory obligations by actively supporting the prevention of homelessness. You would deal with a wide range of people including single people and families some of whom will be vulnerable or fleeing abuse and in need of support and access to other services.

 

Typical duties will be:

To provide a comprehensive homelessness prevention service to members of the public and others tailored to their circumstances.
To give advice and carry out homelessness assessments over the telephone or face to face, undertake detailed enquiries to establish duties owed, provide personalised housing plans which are regularly reviewed.
To maintain accurate and up to date customer records on the Housing IT case management system
Every day will be interesting and present different challenges and demands.  The job is generally 9 to 5 and will be expected to carry out interviews across the district.

 

What we need from you:

Sound knowledge of housing, homelessness and tenancy law
Previous experience within a Housing/Homelessness section.
Ability to organise and prioritise work in a highly pressurised environment
