An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Business Services Team for a committed and flexible individual to provide efficient and effective administrative support. We have a centralised support function to deliver efficient, consistent processes and collaborative working across the council.
You will be joining a friendly team of experienced Business Services Assistants. This is a fast-paced, varied role where you’ll need strong organisational skills, adaptability, and the ability to meet deadlines in a changing environment. If you’re a team player with a can-do attitude and enjoy finding solutions, we’d like to hear from you.
While the role provides flexibility, you are required to attend the office for a minimum of one day per week. Weekly arrangements may vary, and flexibility to work in the office when required is essential. The team is based at County Hall, Matlock
What you’ll be doing
- Assisting the BSM supporting end-to-end business services recruitment processes. Liaising with managers and BS colleagues.
- Maintaining accurate records in line with data protection requirements
- Managing and monitoring team inbox, responding to enquiries and signposting where necessary.
- Coordinating and prioritising team tasks to meet targets.
What we’re looking for:
- Demonstrable experience of managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines within a busy administrative environment.
- Someone who can provide a timely and confident response to professionals and clients via the telephone and other communication methods.
- Confident using Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel, Outlook and Teams, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to work collaboratively, willingness to learn and adapt to change
- Experience of working in a busy office environment.
- Clear communication skills – written and verbal
- Ability to interpret information and analyse data.
- Have an understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and Data Protection.
- Enthusiasm and transferable skills.
