Void Support Assistant

Salary: S3 (£26,877 – £26,937 FTE)
Location: Lincoln

The City of Lincoln Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to work with the Void Support Team based at Hamilton House on a permanent, part time basis.

In this role, you will play a key role in the void management process, helping to ensure properties are re-let efficiently and within agreed timescales.

You will work closely with internal teams, tenants, contractors, and external partners to coordinate activities throughout the void process. This is a varied and fast-paced role that requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

The successful candidate will be confident using a range of computer systems, be able to manage competing priorities and be passionate about making a positive difference to the customer experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the effective management of void properties from termination through to re-let.
  • Coordinate and monitor void processes to ensure properties are re-let within target timescales.
  • Liaise with internal departments, contractors, tenants and external agencies to progress void cases.
  • Maintain accurate records and update housing management systems in a timely manner.
  • Arrange and coordinate property inspections, works orders and appointments as required.
  • Monitor performance against void targets and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to enquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence and documentation relating to void management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the voids process and customer experience.

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative when dealing with challenges.
  • Experience of working in an administrative, housing, customer service, or property-related environment would be advantageous.
