Head of Digital and Information Technology

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Digital and Information Technology to spearhead the delivery of our Digital and IT strategy whilst ensuring the continued delivery and support of our Digital and IT service portfolio.

This is a critical role responsible for driving innovation, ensuring the security and integrity of the Council’s information assets, and delivering an exemplary customer experience at every touchpoint of the customer journey.

You will work closely with senior leaders, service managers, and external partners to develop and implement a forward-thinking digital strategy and agenda that enhances and improves the broader delivery of Council services.

About You

You will be a strategic leader with a strong track record in Information Technology and digital transformation including:

• Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, ideally within local government or the public sector
• Proven experience of delivering and effecting transformational technology change and digitalisation
• A strong understanding and awareness of current trends in digital technologies, cloud services, data analytics and cyber security
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels
• Experience in leading and motivating teams to deliver high quality digital and IT services
• A deep understanding of IT governance, risk and control mechanisms
• A passion for innovation with a fanatical approach to customer service and the customer experience
