New Mills School is a small 11-16 secondary school in the High Peak, close to the stunning Peak District National Park, yet within easy reach of Stockport and Manchester.

Following a very positive Ofsted report rating us ‘Good’ in all areas, we are looking for an exceptional Teacher of Maths to join our team. Ofsted praised our ambitious leadership, high-quality teaching, and strong student attitudes to learning, and we are now seeking an inspirational maths expert to build on this success.

The Role

You will:

  • Teach mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4 to students of all abilities.
  • Inspire learners through creative and engaging teaching that challenges and supports.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and department improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in a supportive, forward-thinking team.
  • Play an active part in the wider life of the school and uphold our high expectations for learning and behaviour. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a passionate and effective teacher of mathematics.
  • Has high expectations and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Is committed to inclusive practice and supporting all learners to achieve.
  • Brings enthusiasm, resilience, and a reflective approach to their own professional development.
  • May be ready to lead on an area of teaching, curriculum, or pastoral responsibility (for which a TLR may be offered).
