Service Development Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Public Health department to support the work of the Health Improvement Team.

We are recruiting a Service Development Officer to join our Live Life Better Derbyshire (LLBD) service (Home – Live Life Better Derbyshire), which supports people to identify and address their holistic wellbeing needs and provides weight management, smoking cessation, physical activity services across Derbyshire and delivers the National Childhood Measurement Programme.  This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and growing service.

You will support the existing Service Development Officer to drive the Physical Activity service across Derbyshire and support public health work in Bolsover.  You will support the development of new projects including developing services for pre & post pregnancy, Severe Mental Illness and menopause in addition to the existing services.

Your role will include:

  • Managing a team of Health Improvement Advisors
  • Engagement and promotion of the service with partners and stakeholders
  • New project development
  • Working within localities to better understand the needs of communities and how we can support them to make lifestyle changes
  • Audits of the service to identify any areas for improvement
  • Conducting risk assessments and developing health and safety procedures

Applicants from candidates with previous experience of designing, developing, monitoring, evaluating physical activity services and with exercise qualifications (e.g. Level 3 exercise referral, Level 4 obesity and diabetes) would be welcomed.
