Following a positive review of Derbyshire Educational Psychology Service (EPS) and its contribution to Derbyshire residents, schools and families, we are pleased to advertise two full time equivalent Senior Educational Psychologist posts. Derbyshire EPs have positive and well-established relationships within the county and our professional contributions are valued by partner agencies. We offer a wide range of commissioned work and have a strong traded early intervention offer to schools via a subscription model. The child-centred and holistic approach to our work ensures strong working relationships with educational settings and parents. We use listening skills, an optimistic outlook and psychological insight to problem solve and make a difference. We are valued for the impact of the high-quality casework, training, therapeutic work, systems work and research which we carry out to enable positive change and improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

Senior Educational Psychologists work within the senior leadership team alongside the Deputy Principal EP with at least three days per week protected time for leadership and management activities and to oversee their portfolios, which we align as closely as possible to individual interests. All SEPs are required to manage a proportionate patch allocation as part of their SEP responsibilities. SEPs provide line management and supervision to maingrade EPs, Assistant EPs, Trainee EPs, and Specialist Senior EPs. This is an opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of the service.
Applications are welcome from EPs with at least 3 years post training experience looking for new challenges. All qualified candidates must be registered to practice with the Health and Care Professionals Council. The posts will be located in the Buxton, Chesterfield or Denby teams working collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team.
