Salary: £27,959.00 – £29,303.00 Grade 6
Location: Beeston Nottinghamshire

37 hours per week, one year contract

 

We’re looking for an event organiser who has experience delivering conference events to plan and deliver the Broxtowe C-City conference on 1 June to 4 June 2026.

The C-City project includes Broxtowe and four other European cities in Germany, Sweden, France and Poland and is designed to share cultural and heritage across the countries and exchange ideas and practices to benefit our respective local areas.

As part of the role, you will be tasked with:

·      Making logistical and operational arrangements including venue hire, travel arrangements, organising catering and planning the conference activities and entertainment.

·      Managing the conference budget.

·      Liaising with key stakeholders and working closely with the Broxtowe Community Committee who will be part of the conference, as well as representatives from the other countries.

·      Managing health and safety requirements for the event.

·      Event manging the conference itself, resolving issues and ensuring a high quality and enjoyable event is delivered for delegates.

·      Evaluating the conference after it has concluded.

The role will also include supporting wider elements of the C-City project and the Communications, Cultural and Civic Services Team to deliver the Cultural Strategy.

You will need to be someone with great organisational, communication and relationship building skills.

 

You should have a relevant event management qualification e.g. degree or relevant, practical experience of planning, delivering and evaluating events.

 

We’re looking for an individual who has experience in:

·      Event and project management.

·      Event design, planning, delivery and evaluation.

·      Managing budgets.

·      Negotiating with suppliers.

·      Attention to detail.

·      Building relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

 

The ideal candidate would:

·       Be highly motivated, organised and able to work under pressure to meet multiple, conflicting deadlines.

·       Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·       Be a team player.

·       Work on their own initiative.

·       Be a quick learner.

·       Be prepared to work outside of normal office hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays to support events and culture activity when required.
