An exciting opportunity has arisen within Children’s Services for dynamic and committed individuals to provide support to families with a wide range of complex and often challenging needs to enable them to remain in their family unit and their communities, and to ensure they remain in education, employment and training (EET).
What will I be doing:
Delivering evidenced based parenting programs to parents of children and young people aged 6 plus:
Solihull Approach 5 – 19 – A 10-week parenting course looking at child development, positive communication, emotional health, and responding to your child’s behaviour.
Non-Violent Resistance (NVR)- The NVR course offers tools and techniques to support parents and carers of children/ young people who show challenging attitudes and behaviours.
Delivering specific and time limited group work to young people who have been referred for support following Early Help Assessment by a lead professional around healthy lifestyles and relationships.
Advising partner agencies on approaches to use with children and families to ensure emerging needs are met and to prevent escalation to statutory services
NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) /EET – The local authority has a statutory duty to track and record activity of all young people between 16-18 years old and to support or signpost those who are NEET into opportunities and/or provision for employment or training.
