Public Protection Admin Assistant

We are looking to recruit a part time Administration Assistant to join Melton Borough Council’s Public Protection Team. The Team is made up of Environmental Health and Licensing and covers a wide and varied range of activities including licensing Taxi drivers and vehicles to Dangerous Wild animals and carrying out Food safety inspections and nuisance complaints. 

The post is 11.1 hours a week to be worked over 3 half days spread across the week to be agreed with the successful candidate. 

We are looking to recruit an Admin Assistant with excellent customer service skills who is confident in dealing with members of the public and ideally previous admin experience working in a busy office environment. 

The role will be covering predominantly the Licensing function and will include the initial response and recording of customer enquiries, printing licences, badges and taxi plates. Producing and sending out of standard template correspondence.  

Experience in a local government background is desirable but not essential. 

A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications is key and you will be able to maintain and update electronic information systems in accordance with data protection regulations.
