Amber Valley Borough Council is looking for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Fleet and Depot Officer.

This is a role where you will oversee and assist with the management of the Councils fleet of vehicles and associated machinery and equipment. You will also be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Landscape Maintenance Depot.

Your Role:

Assist with the management of the fleet of vehicles, equipment and machinery.

Liaise with contractors for the booking of vehicle services, MOT’s, breakdown recovery etc.

Monitor the fleet fuel usage and ensure fuel stocks are replenished in a timely manner.

Assist with the vehicle replacement programme. 

Ensure compliance with legislation including the Commercial Vehicle Operators licence and council policies.

Appoint and monitor contractors and maintain inspection schedules.

Carry out inspections of and update procedures as relevant to the Councils depot to ensure that it operates as a safe working environment.

You will have a knowledge of road transport operations and  grounds maintenance & street cleansing equipment.

Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and council policies.

Devise and implement procedures to assist the Council in achieving its aims and objectives of its Climate change and environmental  strategies and policies.

It is desirable that the post holder has a Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport Operations.
