South Derbyshire District Council
A motivated LGV C driver is required to join our refuse/recycling collection team.
This role will have a particular emphasis on the Councils curbside refuse and recycling collection services, responsible for:
To undertake collection of various types of waste and recycling from households, commercial properties and industrial properties utilising a number of collection methods including wheeled bins, bulk items and refuse sacks.
To be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all allocated vehicles; complying with all applicable driving legislation and agreed practices.
An LGV C driving license and a current driver qualification card are essential.
The standard working week is 37 hours, worked Monday to Friday, with a start time of 6:00am. The Refuse Collection Service operates on a task and finish basis, meaning that once an allocated round is completed, crews may be required to support other rounds to ensure the overall service is delivered effectively.
To accommodate the task and finish nature of the service, there is no fixed daily finishing time. Working time includes the completion of daily vehicle safety checks, carrying out allocated collections and deliveries, and the weekly cleaning of the vehicle.
