We have an exciting opportunity for 6 new positions of Family Help Consultants to join our Children’s Services Team.  You will be based in one of our 6 Localities (Amber Valley, Chesterfield, Erewash, High Peak/North Dales, North East/Bolsover and South Derbyshire/South Dales)

This role has a key opportunity to enhance early help support within our partner agencies

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within education, health or children’s services and have an excellent understanding of Early Help and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children’s Board thresholds.  You will have excellent communication skills, able to build and sustain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, able to deliver workforce development presentations to a range of audiences and willing to work flexibly across teams within the county.

Purpose of this role:

Provide professional practice information, advice and guidance to partner agencies e.g. schools, health and VCI sector to enable these agencies to deliver early help and early intervention work to children, young people and families.

Contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective Family Help service supporting the Families First Partnership Programme (FFPP)

Raise awareness of the importance of early intervention.

What will you be doing?

Develop and sustain strong local partnerships to embed Family Help approaches and reduce escalation into statutory services. 

Support and mentor professionals across agencies to deliver timely, evidence-based early interventions. 

Provide expert input to schools and multi-agency forums to identify emerging needs and shape integrated support plans. 

Deliver high-quality supervision and practice development sessions for partner agencies on Early Help processes. 

Implement business processes that embed Family Help principles across locality partnerships. 

Maintain accurate data on Family Help activity and produce performance reports to inform service improvement. 

Use local intelligence to identify gaps in provision and influence commissioning decisions. 

Develop and maintain a comprehensive directory of early intervention services for families and professionals.
