We are currently seeking a highly motivated Car Park Cleaner to join the Parking Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping the Council’s car parks and Bus Station clean and tidy, and providing excellent customer service to the public.
You will be required to use heavy duty cleaning equipment like a ride-on scrubber / sweeper and other mechanical cleaning equipment, such as a pressure washer. You must be able to work outside. You will be required to complete a range of physical tasks, such as scrubbing lobbies and stairwells, working outdoors in all weathers (full uniform and training will be provided). Whilst the multistorey car parks are covered, they are open to the elements and get very cold and windy for several months of the year.
Applicants should possess excellent communication skills and have experience in dealing with the public. The successful candidate will operate as part of a team but the ability to work independently is essential in what can be a physically demanding role. You will be required to work on a rota / shift system which will include mostly evening working and may include weekend and Bank Holiday working as demand requires, however you would receive weekend / evening enhancements where applicable.
