About Blaby District
Situated to the South of Leicester in the East Midlands, Blaby District offers a wonderful mix of leisure, nature and culture. It has been named the fifth-happiest location in the UK following the Office of National Statistics’ Annual Happiness Study, and is ranked second in Leicestershire for well-being.
The area is well linked to major transport networks – M1 and M69, train routes to Leicester and Birmingham and two international airports, which can be reached within an hour.
Blaby District is home to Fosse Park, one of the biggest out-of-town shopping centres in the country, and the UK’s national diving centre Stoney Cove. The picturesque Kirby Muxloe Castle is also located here, as well as other key heritage sites including the High Cross and Glenfield Tunnel. There are plenty of parks and open spaces to explore such as Bouskell Park, Fosse Meadows, Whistle Way, and Glen Hills Nature Reserve.
