We’re succeeding and constantly developing here at Rutland County Council. We have a structure that enables our staff to experience a great deal of breadth and scope in their roles. We may have three directorates but working as One Council ensures our customers remain at the heart of every decision and action agreed. We regularly meet as a staff group for our “All Staff Conversation” to ensure staff are kept up to date and have the opportunity to openly bring discussion points to the table. We bring together our strengths, share our challenges and successes, and keep each other informed to ensure we work effectively to deliver quality services time and time again.

England’s smallest county is located in the East Midlands, less than one hour from Leicester, Nottingham and Peterborough. Voted Britain’s second-best rural place to live in March 2018, it’s easy to get to, with both the A1 (north-south) and A47 (east-west) passing through the county.

We have much to share with you; not least the fantastic Rutland Water, an array of unspoilt villages and two vibrant market towns, Oakham and Uppingham. Rutland was part of Leicestershire between 1974 and 1997 but is now a proudly independent county.
